Four league-owned clubs, each named for a south Chennai neighbourhood and each fielding a squad in every age band that runs. Players are drafted into them, not signed — and keep their club for the whole season.

All four clubs are owned by the league. The panel drafts players across them, band by band, balancing the squads so that no club is stacked and every game is worth playing.

Sunday 6 or 13 December. Every registered player bats, bowls and fields in front of the selection panel.

The panel drafts the selected players across the four clubs, one age band at a time.

The rules, plainly
- Choosing a club
- Families do not choose a club, and we do not take requests — not for a friend, a suburb or a coach.
- Brothers and sisters
- Siblings in different bands are a separate matter: tell us and we will keep them at the same ground where the draw allows it.
- For the season
- A player keeps their club for the whole season.
- Every band
- Every club fields a squad in every age band that runs. A band without enough registrations is merged upward or held over to the next season.
It is the part families ask about most, and it is the part that makes a first season into a competition rather than an exhibition.

Two countries.
The four Chennai clubs join the three Melbourne franchises — Northern Warriors, Western Falcons and Eastern Panthers — in the same league, with players moving in both directions.
About the clubs
Can we choose which club my child plays for?
No. Players are drafted across the four clubs by the selection panel, band by band, so that no club is stacked. We do not take requests, and a player keeps their club for the whole season.
We live in Velachery. Will my child play for Velachery Warriors?
Not necessarily. The clubs are named for neighbourhoods, but requests are not taken — not for a friend, a suburb or a coach. The panel drafts players to balance the squads.
Can friends be drafted to the same club?
We do not take requests for friends. Siblings in different bands are different: tell us and we will keep them at the same ground where the draw allows it.
Can a player change clubs during the season?
No. A player keeps their club for the whole season.
