Registrations for VECL Chennai Season 1 close on Sunday 22 November 2026. Registering takes a couple of minutes, and it is all done on one form on this site. There is no app to download and no account to create.
Before you start
It helps to have these to hand:
- The player's age band, and which selection Sunday suits you: 6 December, 13 December, or either
- Their date of birth
- Their main playing role, how they bat and how they bowl
- Their current club or academy, if they have one, and the levels they have played at
- A PlayHQ or CricHeroes profile link, if they have one (this is optional)
- A parent or guardian's name, email and mobile number. For a player who is 18 or over, these are the player's own details
If you are not sure which age band is right, the age bands are explained at vecl.in/season-1.
Step 1: open the form
Go to vecl.in/register, or tap Register on any page of this site.
Step 2: tell us about the player
The form asks for the age band and preferred selection day, the player's name, date of birth and gender, and their cricket: main role, batting and bowling, current club, the levels they have played at, and whether they have played in VECL before.
There is space to tell us about any injury or medical condition we should know about. Please use it. Anything a coach would need to know in a hurry, such as asthma, allergies or a recent concussion, belongs here.
Step 3: photographs and video
The form asks two separate questions about pictures. One is a coaching record, seen only by the player's coaches, the selection panel and the family. The other is public use, such as team photographs and match action on the league's websites and social media. Nothing is pre-ticked, and saying no to either has no effect on selection or on playing. For a player aged 12 or over, we ask you to talk these choices through with them first.
Step 4: pay ₹250
You then agree to the league policies and pay ₹250 by UPI or card on Razorpay's secure page, and come straight back to the site. The registration is complete once the ₹250 is paid, and not before.
Your details are saved before the payment page opens. If a payment is interrupted, fill the form in again with the same details and pay; the player will not be registered twice.
A confirmation email follows, with the player's reference and their selection day.
What the ₹250 does, and does not, do
The fee books the player's team selection day: the ground, the officials and the panel's time. It does not buy a squad place. Teams are picked at the selection days, and the panel's decision is final.
The fee is not refundable, including if the player is not selected, is taken out at the family's request, or does not attend their selection day. The one exception is when VECL cancels: a selection day that does not run, or a season that does not start, is refunded.
More than one child
Register one player, then choose Register another player and fill in the form for the next. The fee is per player.
Following the registration afterwards
The registration is kept against your email address. If you sign in to the Elite app with the same email, the registration is already there, and you can follow each stage: registered, selection day booked, trialled, place offered, enrolled.
A word on payments
We never take a payment over the phone and never ask for card details by message. The only place to pay is the form on vecl.in.
