Players are drafted, not signed
All four clubs are owned by the league. After the team selection days the panel drafts players across them, band by band, balancing the squads so that no club is stacked and every game is worth playing.
That means you do not pick a club, and we do not take requests — not for a friend, a suburb or a coach. It is the part families ask about most, and it is the part that makes a first season into a competition rather than an exhibition. Siblings in different bands are a separate matter: tell us and we will keep them at the same ground where the draw allows it.
A player keeps their club for the whole season. Club names, colours and squads are published here as the draft completes.
